When the Romans conquered this territory some 2000 years ago, they found vines here,
and the viticultural tradition has been a strong one ever since.
There is something on offer for every taste and any soul.
One has to taste and judge the quality of the Drava Region's white wines for oneself.
The best place to experience them in situ - in their natural domain as it were - together with
the wonderful views of a luxuriant vineyarded landscape.
Slovene vintages have most definitely gone up in the world of wine, and today they
are comparable to the very best. Gold medals in Brussels, Bordeaux, Paris and Montreal as well
as here, at home, in Ljubljana and Gornja Radgona, are a confirmation of this.

People are forever wondering what "dry wine" actually means. It describes a wine
containing between 1 and 2 grams of unfermented sugar. "Dry", therefore, means unsweet.
The whole notion of a dry wine is that it is typically vivacious, fruity and has a
freshness which is the result of a pleasant acidity.
When partaking of a fine dry wine, one is easily overwhelmed; the first glass soon
calls for another one, especially with a good meal.
Dry wines are mostly red wines. Merlot is, in comparison with the other red varieties,
more rounded and has a softer taste; it is also more elegant, with a noble, yet typically gentle bouquet.
It has a typical red wine taste and is somewhat lighter than ruby. Merlot matured in the oak cask (barique)
will please the most demanding of connoisseurs, while Cabernet Sauvignon has a strong character, as well as
excellent structure and harmony.
Dry wines have a pleasant influence on ones health, are very drinkable and even inspiring.
In a dry wine's taste, it can be easily noticed if there were some mistakes in the production.
